Pluto through the lens of tarot

First, let me say that I am not an astrologer. My interest in planetary associations comes from studying tarot and taking classes that have helped me understand how the planets connect with the cards. I find these connections interesting because they give us another way to look at what might be showing up in a reading.

We've already talked a little about Scorpio and its connection to the Death card, but I want to bring another card into the conversation: Judgement.

Pluto is the planet associated with deep change, transformation, regeneration and rebirth. And when we look at the tarot, we can see some pretty interesting connections between Pluto and these two cards.

Let's start with Death.

We know Death isn't necessarily about physical death. It's about change, endings and transformation. Sometimes something in our lives has simply run its course. It might be a way of thinking, a relationship, a situation or even an old version of ourselves. Something has to change so something new has room to grow.

Then we have Judgement.

Judgement is about taking a good look at where we've been, recognizing what we've learned and making decisions based on sound judgement rather than just reacting emotionally.

There's often something from the past connected to this card, too. Maybe something comes back around, an old situation suddenly makes sense, or we finally recognize a pattern we've been repeating. It's that moment when the lightbulb goes off and we see things a little differently. And with that understanding, the way forward becomes clearer.

I've noticed Judgement making a pretty persistent appearance in readings lately, and when you consider its association with Pluto, it makes sense that these themes are getting our attention.

So how might we be feeling these energies in everyday life?

Maybe we're questioning things we never questioned before. Maybe we're looking at certain relationships or situations and realizing they just don't fit anymore. Old issues might resurface, or we may finally understand why something happened the way it did.

And sometimes, change isn't even about something happening around us. It's about something changing within us. The way we think, the things we accept and what we're no longer willing to carry forward.

Here's what I find interesting about looking at Death and Judgement together. Death represents the transformation, while Judgement asks us what we've learned from it and what we're going to do with that knowledge.

Pluto's energy reminds us that change can go much deeper than what we see on the surface. Sometimes things have to be brought into the light before we can really move forward.

And perhaps that's the biggest takeaway: We can't change what has already happened, but we can change how we move forward because of it.
